  • What would be the perfect story for about an anti-hero?

Posted by admin on June 1st, 2010 and filed under audience development | 2 Comments »

I am writing a novel for my course and my tutor says it needs story development and a specific audience. I am so confused right now and I don’t know what I could create a story for my character that happens to be an anti-hero.

what are the aspects of a hero – doing something for a cause, doing something good, helpful to people so an anti hero would be someone who does things only for himself, does bad things, and hurts others, this sounds alot like a villain, so just write a story through the eyes of a bank robber or something

i was wondering if anyone knew any websites or information about embossing, foil stamping, die-cutting, folding and other printing effects. ive tried searching but i haven’t been able to find anything yet.

anything about their orgins (when did it first emerge, first applications) function (how did it function, is it now obsolete, what has replaced it, users of it, who has benefitted from it, what products have been created using the technology, was it well recieved by the audience) development (how has it changed, different examples of where it is used, how has it affected society and the environment, what developments are in store) is good.

now obviously no one will know the answers to all of this but any little detail will help me alot. please help me?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embossing

Looking for Game/Session etc on Business Development?

Posted by admin on May 23rd, 2010 and filed under audience development | 1 Comment »

I want to conduct a session on business development
    duration: 30 mins – 45 mins
audience: managerial level staff (of all departments)
I propose to start off with explaining the market size etc and after that I want to have an interesting game / workshop etc…something related to business development….can anyone help out
I am looking out for some session/game/workshop etc related to business development

I was recently at a team building business development seminar and we did an exercise that was a lot of fun and also truly illustrated the ideas included in the presenter’s presentation.

He divided everyone into five teams of five people – all managers and directors. He bought five small bikes that came in boxes at a local discount store. He gave each team a small set of scredrivers and wrenches. He had already opened each box, but only took out the assembly instructions. Then he told each team to put together the bike, along with the training wheels, as quickly as possible. The team that put the bike together the fastest and was actually able to have someone ride it, got a pirze.

Following the exercise we discussed how important each member of the team was to the exercise and how each specific task had a specific task that preceded it and followed it; steps could not be skipped before moving on to the next step.

We discussed how this related to our strategic planning and business development. A lot of reasearch must be done and certain steps taken prior to the completion of a strategic plan addressing business development.

All of the assembled bikes were then delivered to a local after school care center for disadvantaged children. I thought it was very effective.

    I hope this helps.

Where can I write my own book online?

Posted by admin on May 20th, 2010 and filed under audience development | 4 Comments »

I’d like to write a book. Step by step a little every now and then, and publish it online every day or week. Anywhere I can do that for free and if I write real good have a big audience following the development of the book?

If you’re going bit by bit, I would just use a blog. Livejournal and Blogger offer two excellent free choices, or you could use your own website and update it piece by piece.

    Network Summit – Belfast 2007

Posted by admin on May 18th, 2010 and filed under audience development | No Comments »

This year Network, the umbrella organisation for the 16 audience development agencies in the United Kingdom will hold its annual summit in Belfast. Looking both externally at models and ideas for the future, and internally at how to strengthen an organisation through learning and enterprise, the Network summit brings together a mixture of current futures thinking as well as current applied best practice.

With keynote speakers from within and outside the sector, as well as practical case studies from agencies working on the ground, the Network Summit seeks to explore what will give that “competitive edge” to future cultural organisations.

Set in the wonderful city of Belfast, with programmed opportunities to network with research, marketing, audience development and organisational development experts from across the UK, the Network Summit is an important opportunity for anyone interested in increasing the numbers of people engaging and participating in culture.

For non-members of Network, the rate for the two days is £325, which includes all accommodation at the Jury’s Inn and meals, including Monday night’s summit dinner at the four star Merchant Hotel.

How can I get an audience with David Filo and/or his executives?

Posted by admin on May 16th, 2010 and filed under audience development | 1 Comment »

I invented a super low cost GPS (if not free, how can it be done you say, get me an appointment with them and I will cut you in), along with a long/lat driven SQL database that has a great “conceptional" fit with the new Yahoo services: tagging, local business development, consumer travel, directions and mapping, child safety, NO privacy concerns.
Guaranteed that you are found ONLY when you or yours wants to be found or needs something. This GPS has been designed to be delivered to the masses so everyone could have the benefits of satellite travel, ultimately leading to less oil dependency and a realistic reduction in emissions, outside the Global Warming controversy, how can you argue with either. The satellites are there anyways why not put them to work for everyone. This is no bs, if I have to cut off my ear to prove it I will.

This pulls a lot of things together, from virtual to reality. Yahoo could use the shot in the arm too!!

    Start here: http://docs.yahoo.com/info/

If you meet a high enough wall, do you have to stick with yahoo?
You’ll can keep plugging away at looking for other potential allies until you find one. Persistence/perseverance is the name of the game.

If a smaller company has enough means to pilot your project it may be much more receptive than Filo and more profitable for you. They may be less bureaucratic and open to innovators.

List three things that a Web designer must consider and understand about the purpose or target audience?

prior to site development. Why do you feel each of these is important to a successful plan?

First and foremost, geographic location: Language, culture are must knows
